Routes Trivia: The First European Carrier To Chongqing

In Summer 2012 season, Finnair is offering service on Helsinki – Chongqing route from 09MAY12 with four weekly flights. Although it will be the only European carrier to offer the sole link between Europe and Chongqing, it is not the first European carrier to fly to this Western Chinese metropolis.

According to OAG Schedules iNet data, LTU German Airlines (now part of airberlin Group) was the first European carrier to tap into Western China market, with the short-lived Munich – Chongqing operation in 2000 and Dusseldorf – Chongqing in 2003.
