ROUTES ASIA: Abu Dhabi Triumphs in Airport Marketing Awards
The winner of the second heat of this year’s Routes Airport Marketing Awards was announced last night at a lavish Gala Dinner in Incheon, South Korea. Over 400 aviation professionals were gathered, taking part in the 9th Routes Asia – the only network planning event for all of Asia.
The Routes Airport Marketing Awards have become synonymous with recognising and rewarding the highest standards of marketing activities undertaken by airports. They work on the core principal that the people who are best placed to judge an airport’s marketing activities are its primary users: airlines.
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) was crowned winner not only of the Middle East and Sub-Continent category but also overall for the entire Asian region. They are now automatically shortlisted in the World Routes Awards due to be held at World Routes in Berlin later this year. They join Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport who were shortlisted after their victory in the Americas heat of the Awards, held in February.
Dave Stroud, Executive Vice President, Airports, UBM Aviation, said: “The standard of marketing activities undertaken by airports never fails to impress me. Abu Dhabi Airports Company are worthy winners, and I am hopeful for them that their efforts will encourage many new routes and developments at the airport.”
Peter Hoslin, Head of Airline Marketing, ADAC, said: “We would like to thank our airline partners for recognising with this award Abu Dhabi Airports Company’s long investment in airline marketing. It is something special when the recipients of our marketing activities themselves actually vote for us. Our success is a result of our commitment to offering comprehensive developmental and marketing support to our airline partners on one hand, and the significant contribution of our stakeholders in Abu Dhabi on the other. No wonder Abu Dhabi is the right place to develop and has the right people to support the airlines.”
