ROUTES AMERICAS: Shortlist for Regional Airport Marketing Awards Announced

Voting has now closed for the first regional heat of the 2012 Routes Airport Marketing Awards – The Americas and the airports shortlisted for the award were announced last week.

This year there will be only one winner for the entire Americas region and the airport who wins this highly sought after industry accolade will be automatically shortlisted in their region for the World Routes Airport Marketing Awards which will take place at the event in Abu Dhabi, 29th September – 2nd October 2012. This will mean that the airport does not need votes from outside the region to be shortlisted for the World Awards giving them the chance to win a globally recognised industry award, no matter their size or region.

Over the last month airlines, from within the Americas region, have been voting for the airports who they feel have made the most efficient use of their marketing over the last 12 months. Airlines were asked to take into account the airport’s market research activities, marketing communications, business case presentations and joint communication campaigns with third parties.

From the airports nominated the following seven have been shortlisted to win the first Airport Marketing award of the year...

* Aruba Airport Authority
* Boston Logan International Airport
* Curacao - Hato International Airport
* Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport
* Fort Myers, Southwest Florida International Airport
* Myrtle Beach Airport
* Washington Dulles International Airport

The winner and the highly commended airports will be announced during the Routes Americas Networking Evening, which will be held in Nassau tonight.
