Routes Airport Marketing Awards, Europe – Vote Now!

Earlier this week voting opened for the European regional heat of the 2012 Routes Airport Marketing Awards.

Winners of the awards, which recognise the marketing performance of airports within Europe, will be announced during the Routes Europe Networking Evening which will be held on Monday 21st May at the event in Tallinn.

Airports should actively campaign their airline customers to ensure that they are voting for them in the Routes Airport Marketing Awards – Europe. The overall winner from the region will join the overall winners from each of the other Routes regional events taking place in 2012 and will automatically be shortlisted in their region for the World Routes Marketing Awards.

Airlines, within the region, are being asked to consider airports whose marketing efforts, over the last 12 months, have made a real impact on their future network development plans when deciding who to nominate. The airport’s market research activities, marketing communications, business case presentations and joint communication campaigns with third parties should all be taken into account when voting in these highly regarded awards.

Budapest Airport was named as the overall winner for the Europe region at last year’s Routes Europe event in Cagliari, Sardinia. Speaking at the time, Director of Aviation at Budapest Airport, Kam Jandu said: “These awards represent the combined efforts of the entire Commercial team at Budapest Airport, who in the last two years have really made a quantum leap in putting Budapest Airport Airline Development and Marketing at the forefront of airline route development. It is especially gratifying to have our achievements acknowledged by industry experts and other key influencers.”

The Routes Airport Marketing Awards are now synonymous with recognising and rewarding the highest standards of marketing activities undertaken by airports. After being nominated by airlines, the shortlisted airports are then asked to submit details about their marketing activities, results and support packages to airlines. A panel of judges considers these submissions based upon how they match the entry brief, demonstrate evidence of relationships with airlines, use innovative ways of marketing to airlines and creative application.

Vote now and play an important role in deciding which airport wins one of these widely sought after accolades. Simply click here and log in to your Routesonline profile to nominate (in priority order) up to five airports in your network within Europe, irrespective of their size. Voting will remain open until Friday 4th May 2012 and shortlisted airports will be announced shortly after this deadline.
