OVERVIEW:
TAM is the largest carrier in Latin America carrying over 24 million passengers annually and is the only Latin American member of Star Alliance. TAM operates out of Sao Paulo-Guarulhos and is set to merge with Oneworld member LAN next year. TAM's network is largely domestic and also uses its alliances with regional carriers to serve destinations in Argentina, Chile and USA. It also has an established international transatlantic network including LHR, CDG, MAD, FRA and MXP.

NETWORK STRATEGY:
The strategy is to use the two main hubs at Rio and Sao Paulo to serve the whole of Latin America for Star Alliance. Whilst retaining their separate brands, TAM and LAN will work closer together as they begin operations under the merged parent company LATAM Airlines Group. TAM now has 27 Airbus A350 - 900s on order suggesting further International transatlantic expansion plans. It seems set to continue to build its domestic network though as well as over 60 further aircraft mainly consisting of A319s, A320s, and A321s.
