Routes CIS is the route development forum for the entire CIS region and registrations are now being taken for the 2nd Routes CIS event which will take place between June 24-26, 2012. The event, which will be hosted by Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport, will be held in Ekaterinburg which is located in the central part of Russia on the Eastern side of the Ural Mountain range. Its geographic position means it is the ideal location for airports, airlines, tourism authorities and other industry stakeholders from all over the region to meet and discuss their future plans.
Almost 200 key decision makers from across the region are expected to attend the event to discuss air service development. Delegates responsible for both new and existing routes from a wide variety of airlines will attend this event and early registrations received include Pegasus Airlines, flyDubai and airBaltic.
Airlines that are interested in learning more about the opportunities presented in the CIS market should attend the second Routes CIS in Ekaterinburg. Key information and data on these regions will be available for airlines to access, whilst learning more about the bilateral positions in potential growth markets. Additionally there is also the opportunity to discuss interline opportunities with some of the largest airlines in the CIS region. There will also be high level representation from many airports and Government Stakeholders from across the CIS keen to speak with airlines wishing to learn more about the market opportunities that exist.
“Hosting Routes CIS 2012 is a great privilege and a variety of opportunities for us,” said Yevgeny Chudnovsky, Chief Executive Officer, Koltsovo Airport. “The projects currently implemented at Koltsovo surpass the scope of the airport development and expansion to the air gateways of Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and ultimately all other Russian airports. To have Routes CIS hosted in Ekaterinburg is a perfect opportunity for us to give an insight into our plans and achievements to our colleagues, to share our expertise in introduction of new technologies, related to airport operation in particular, to find new partners, and to enhance the route network for our passengers.”
Due to its location on the border of Europe and Asia, Koltsovo Airport (SVX), one of Russia’s leading airports, plans to develop into a regional feeder hub feeding both European and Asian network carriers. The airport currently has over 35 Russian and foreign airline partners connecting Ekaterinburg with over 90 cities in Europe, Asia and Northern Africa. SVX have recently been focusing on the construction of the ‘New Air Cargo Logistic Village’ project which will aim to deliver world class facilities for air cargo handling and operations in order to support the growth and development of air freight in Russia.
