Oman Air celebrates success of recently-launched Muscat to Zurich route

Oman Air will be celebrating last month's launch of its new service between Zurich and Muscat with a special event tomorrow at the Park Hyatt Zurich.

The event, taking place on 19th January, will be hosted by Oman Air and will welcome His Excellency Khalil Al Khonji, chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as guest of honour. Guests from the travel and tourism trade, media, corporate partners and the aviation industry will join him.

“It will be an honour to welcome His Excellency Mr Khalil Al Khonji to this event, which will celebrate our great new service between Muscat and Zurich, and we look forward to offering the warmest of Omani hospitality to everyone who attends,” said Wayne Pearce, Oman Air’s recently-appointed chief executive officer.

“The new service links Oman’s beautiful and timeless capital with what is one of the world’s great financial centres and an ideal gateway to the Alps for both winter and summer sports enthusiasts.

“The route is already proving extremely popular for visitors from Oman and beyond, as it is for visitors from Switzerland to Oman, who now find it easier than ever to experience the unparalleled hospitality, rich culture and dramatic landscapes that are unique to the Sultanate.”

The Muscat to Zurich service also offers Swiss travellers the opportunity to experience Oman Air’s new fleet of Airbus A330 widebody aircraft, which feature the World’s Best Business Class Seat (World Airline Awards 2011) and the world’s first complete onboard connectivity service, allowing passengers to make phone calls, send SMSs, check email and surf the internet.

“Having attracted numerous awards over a short period of time, Oman Air’s acclaimed products and services are perfect for Zurich and we look forward to joining our guests, friends and colleagues in celebrating the launch and subsequent success of this outstanding new route,” Pearce concluded.
