Worldwide capacity is set to reach 1.4 billion seats during the fourth quarter (Q4) of the year, marking a year-on-year rise of 4% and up by 1.9% on 2019 levels.

Carriers in the Asia-Pacific region are offering 25.5 million more seats during Q4 2024, compared with Q4 2023, while airlines in Europe are adding 16.5 million additional seats over the same time period. Africa is the only region where year-on-year capacity is set to decline in Q4, falling by 1% or 183,000 departure seats.
