By The Numbers: Europe (Q2 2025)

Overall, air capacity from and within Europe is set to reach 458 million departure seats in the second quarter (Q2) of 2025, reflecting a 4% year-on-year increase and a 5% rise compared to pre-pandemic levels.

Spain will be the largest market during this period, with 49.5 million departure seats available, surpassing the UK at 48.4 million. Italy ranks third with 37.6 million seats, followed closely by Germany and Turkey.

According to analysis of OAG Schedules Analyser data, Spain, Italy and Turkey have experienced strong capacity growth compared to Q2 2019, with increases of 15%, 18.7% and 19.7%, respectively. The UK has seen a modest rise of 1.5%, while Germany remains 11.6% below pre-pandemic levels.

Other high-performing markets include Greece (+34.6%), Portugal (+21.9%) and Poland (+28.3%). In contrast, France (-2.1%), Norway (-6.6%), Sweden (-26.2%) and Finland (-20%) continue to lag behind Q2 2019 levels.
