AMERICAN MAKES CUTS AT SAN JUAN

From April 5th, 2011, oneworld member, American Airlines will discontinue five scheduled routes from its Caribbean base in San Juan. The routes that will be cut are Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, the intra Island connection to Santa Domingo and Tampa, Florida. JetBlue Airways will continue scheduled services on the Boston sector with a weekly flight, AirTran operates a twice-weekly from Baltimore to San Juan and US Airways operates 16 weekly flights to Philadelphia.


ALLEGIANT ADDS VEGAS TO BAKERSFIELD SERVICE

Allegiant Air will begin new non-stop services from its Las Vegas base to Bakersfield, California, beginning November 17th. The route will be operated three times weekly. Allegiant will become the third scheduled carrier operating into Bakersfield. United Airlines has scheduled flights from Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Meanwhile, US Airways serves Bakersfield from Phoenix.


CONTINENTAL INCREASES SUMMER SERVICES TO OSLO

Continental Airlines will increase its summer schedule to the Norwegian capital of Oslo in 2011. Effective May 26th, the Star Alliance member will increase its existing daily service to a ten-times weekly operation from Newark. Oslo also has services to the US in the shape of US Airways weekly service from Philadelphia.


AIRTRAN CONTINUES INTERNATIONAL PUSH

With a merger in principle agreed with Southwest Airlines, AirTran has continued its international expansion from Baltimore, announcing that it will increase existing daily service to a double daily to San Juan, effective April 5th. AirTran will be competing for market share with American Airlines which currently has a 55% share of the 96,000 O+D annual market.


AMERICAN STEPS INTO MEXICANA VOID

American Airlines from November 2010 will be gradually increasing service to Mexico followed by the demise of oneworld partner Mexicana.

Chicago - Mexico City effective December 16th a new daily service.

Dallas - Aguascalientes effective November 18th 2010 it will increase from daily to double daily operated with American Eagle equipment.

Dallas - Guadalajara effective November 18th 2010 - 15thDecember 2010 its twice daily mainline services will be replaced with a once weekly mainline and once weekly Eagle service.

Dallas - Leon Effective 16th December 2010 an increase from three to four daily

Dallas - Mexico City effective 18th November, 2010 an Increase from four to five daily

Miami - Cancun effective February 10th,2011 five daily flights (Currently only four daily on weekdays and five on weekends)
Miami - Mexico City effective November 18th 2011 an increase from three to four daily

Effective 10th February 2011, subject to Government approval, American Airlines plans to launch a daily service to Queretaro and Veracruz.
