New terminal in Monterrey

The new Terminal building in Monterrey International Airport, located at Monterrey, Mexico, named as Terminal B, was built with an innovative concept to provide improved airport and commercial services that will offer a new whole experience to our passengers and users.

Terminal B was designed to provide modern and functional services using construction materials that are manufactured in the state region, such as glass, concrete and steel.

Sustainability was also taken into account in the design and construction of the new Terminal. Its structure takes advantage of the natural brightness which enhances its amplitude and also reduces the amount of energy used for its daily operation. The new terminal has also a new air conditioning system that reduces the amount of energy.

The integration of all the construction materials and the harmony between its design, engineering, technology, safety and environment, will create a new avant-garde Terminal that will lead and revolutionize Mexico's airport industry.

Terminal B will start operations at the beginning of 2010.

The main features are:

  • 21 thousand square meters that will offer a capacity up to 2 million domestic and international passengers per year, in two stories and a mezzanine level.
  • 6 passenger jetways, 4 remote stands and 7 regional aircraft parking positions.
  • 23 check-in counters and 3 baggage claim conveyor belts.
  • 2,100 square meters in commercial space.
  • Separation of arriving and departing passenger flows and a connecting passenger waiting area.
