Routes is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Bland as Future Hosts Director for its events and Richard Maslen as Editor – Routesonline.
Katie moves to this position following a successful 5½ years as Sales Director at Routes and has 15 years experience working for a range of b2b multiplatform media organisations, including Emap, Informa and Reed and Montgomery Exhibitions.
Routes events are the place for the route development community to meet and do business. They are the world’s most influential aviation events, unique both in aviation and as a catalyst for regional economic development. For each event, Routes develops selection guidelines which detail the conditions a successful host should meet. Hosts are typically airports, who are often supported by their City and Regional Government stakeholders.

The selection of future hosts is a major ingredient in the success of each event.”
Meanwhile, Richard has joined Routesonline as the editor of The HUB, the weekly route development update. He will be responsible for the writing and production of the online publication, bringing together the latest industry news and in-depth analysis of trends.
Before joining the company, Richard was on the editorial team of three of Key Publishing’s commercial aviation titles: Airliner World, Airports of the World and Airliner Classics. In his eight years there, he was responsible for news and feature writing, enhancing the magazine’s profile across an international audience, and developing a social media presence for each publication. Richard spent the previous four and a half years as the Editor of the weekly in-house newsletter produced by Airclaims Limited, the world’s leading provider of aviation claims, risk and asset management to the global aviation industry.
