New Delta Vietnam–US service

Delta Air Lines has approached the Vietnamese government to gain permission for daily flights between Ho Chi Minh City and the US starting in 2009.

Though the proposed service is still subject to the government’s approval, “there is a great likelihood the plan will be sanctioned,” said Nguyen Thi To Nhi, sales manager of East Sea Travel, which is a sales agent for Delta in HCMC.

The service would operate from Vietnam to the US, via Japan according to Delta.
