Liquid limit lifted by 2009 – TSA

The TSA has said it expects to lift restrictions on carrying large bottles of liquid airplanes some time next year.

TSA administrator, Kip Hawley, said on the agency’s website that the 3-ounce limit on bottles of liquids, gels and aerosols could be removed by the autumn, but said bottles would still have to be processed through check in separately.

He added that by the end of 2010 passengers should be able to keep liquids as they go through checkpoints as new X-ray machines come on stream.
