Libya signs air-pact with Spain to increase services
Spain and Libya have signed a new air services agreement which will open up the Madrid-Tripoli route to Spanish airlines other than Iberia for the first time.
Under the new deal, any airline from either country will be permitted to operate services on any route linking Libya with Spain, said the Spanish ministry of public works in a statement.
The agreement increases to 10 the number of weekly flights between the two countries, including eight passenger flights and two cargo services.
Also included in the pact is an agreement to co-operate on safety matters, ground-handling and codesharing.
