This new user friendly format sees the addition of a filter which allows users to sort attendees by organisation type and region as well as the order in which they are displayed. Route Exchange members are easily identifiable on the new look attendee list enabling users to click to view their profiles and finally further information about an attendee can be found by hovering over the ‘i’ icon where available.
This year also sees the introduction of a brand new online meeting request area on Routesonline which, for the first time, will allow airlines (and all others with a meeting entitlement for World Routes) to select their preferred meetings at the event via their Routesonline profile. Within this area of the website delegates can also view the profiles of all Route Exchange members which will assist with making and preparing for the face-to-face meetings which will take place at the event. Almost 4,000 meetings have already been scheduled for this year’s event so log in to Routesonline and make your meeting requests now!
World Routes in Abu Dhabi will, for the first time ever, see a dedicated session for interline meetings to take place during the afternoon of Sunday 30thSeptember. This will allow alliance and interline managers to meet with other carriers to discuss interline agreements, marketing arrangements, SPAs and scheduled connections. The session will begin with a workshop followed by pre-arranged one-to-one meetings between carriers.
Further to this dedicated interline session, JetBlue Airways have recently confirmed that they will give a Route Exchange presentation on their interline strategy during the event. This briefing will be delivered by JetBlue’s Director of Alliance Strategy, Scott Resnick, and is a unique opportunity to hear from perhaps the most prolific of interline carriers, given JetBlue’s position as the biggest carrier at JFK International Airport.
Along with JetBlue and in addition to the face-to-face meetings at the core of the event some of the key airlines attending will be delivering Route Exchange Airline Briefings. These briefings are unique to Routes events and offer airlines the chance to brief airports and their destinations on their future plans and potential opportunities. Over 30 briefings are expected to take place at World Routes in 2012 with Southwest, easyJet, Iberia, Air Canada, Monarch, Saudi Arabian Cargo, British Airways and many more already signed up.
