Jetstar secures rights to Narita

As part of its ongoing expansion in Singapore, Jetstar Asia has secured traffic rights to operate services from Singapore to Tokyo Narita.

A start date for the potential new services is not clear, but Jetstar Asia will face significant competition on the route in the shape of legacy carriers.

American carriers, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines both operate daily double drop services, JAL and All Nippon offer a double daily rotation as does Singapore Airlines,.

IATA BSP data shows that over 794,000 passengers have flown the route between Feb 09-10 with Singapore Airlines having a 34% market share.
