Qantas' low cost subsidiary Jetstar has announced that it will add two new destinations to Perth, Western Australia. Jetstar currently operates 46 weekly flights from Perth to seven destinations. From December 10th it will add a weekly service from Brisbane which is operated four times weekly by Qantas and will compete with the daily rotation offered by Virgin Blue.
From April 4th, Jetstar will also begin a new daily rotation to the Gold Coast from Perth. It will be the only non-stop scheduled link on a route that has seen over 41,000 O+D passengers fly from June 2009-10 with Virgin Blue having a 66% share via Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
