Jet Airways to serve Johannesburg

Jet Airways will launch new non stop scheduled service from its hub in Mumbai to Johannesburg, South Africa.

The new route will commence April 14 with A330-200 and will be operated on a daily basis. Jet Airways will face competition on the route from flag carrier South African Airways which itself operates a 5x weekly rotation between the city pairs.

IATA BSP DATA (AIrport IS) shows that over 71,000 pax flew the city pairs between November 08-09 with SAA enjoying a 44% market share. The most popular indirect route is via Dubai with Emirates.
