Inaugural Routes Middle East & Africa to Open this Sunday in Bahrain
Currently over 50 airlines, represented by senior delegations, have confirmed their attendance at the event in Manama. The event will see strong representation from Africa, with a number of major African carriers having registered early including South African Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Egyptair and Kenya Airways, whilst all three major carriers from the Middle East Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways have also registered.
Attendees looking to meet with low cost carriers can expect to see representation from Air Arabia, Flynas and Fastjet. The most recent registrations for Routes Middle East & Africa include Jazeera Airways, Jet Asia Airways, DHL Aviation and Lufthansa.
Over 60 airport delegates representing over 50 airports have also registered to attend the event. During the last few weeks new registrations have been received from a number airports and tourism authorities including Amsterdam Airport Schipol, Kilimanjaro International Airport, Jordan Tourism Board, Manchester Airports Group, Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe and Tourism KwaZulu-Natal.
Currently over 70 airports and tourism authorities have also registered for the event, with the most recent registrations including Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, Botswana Department of Tourism, Abu Dhabi Department of Transport and King Fahd International Airport. In addition to the Face-to-Face Meetings which form the heart of the event, The Routes Middle East & Africa Strategy Summit will take place over two days at Routes Middle East & Africa from Sunday 31st May – Monday 1st June. It will open with a Welcome Address from H.E. Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications for the Kingdom of Bahrain. Other high level speakers include Adel Ali, CEO, Air Arabia; Paul Byrne, Chief Executive Officer, Flynas; Aloke Singh, Chief Officer Network Planning, Oman Air and Dr. Elijah Chingosho, Secretary General, African Airlines Association along with other experts in the field.
The packed event programme also includes many opportunities for delegates to network at the various social events taking place including the Host Welcome Reception and the Networking Evening.
