Saudi Arabia’s flynas will open service to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD) from two of its Saudi bases in October.

The LCC will launch flights from Jeddah to the Ethiopian capital from Oct. 9. On the same date, flynas will commence service from Riyadh to ADD. Both routes will be operated 3X-weekly.

The airline says in a statement that the routes are “in line with flynas plans to further expanding [the carrier’s] network in the African market,” adding: “This will reinforce the travel destinations to Africa offered by flynas to the pilgrims and visitors between the two countries.”

Saudi Arabian Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines both fly between ADD and Jeddah. Ethiopian Airlines also operates between ADD and Riyadh, with Saudi Arabian Airlines placing its code on those flights.

Flynas operates 43 Airbus A320-family aircraft on its scheduled network, along with four A330s, which are used for religious pilgrimages. Another 92 aircraft are on firm order, and the fleet mix will include at least 10 A321XLRs.

The Saudi LCC's network consists of 90 routes across 21 countries, with more than 1,500 weekly flights operated.
