Flydubai makes inaugural flight to Luxor
Dubai's first low cost airline, notched up its 15th destination last night when its inaugural flight to the ancient Egyptian city of Luxor took off from Dubai International Airport's Terminal 2.
Luxor is the airline's second destination in Egypt after Alexandria and will be followed on Monday 24th May by its third, Assiut, the largest town in Upper Egypt.
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer of flydubai said: "Our flights to Alexandria have proved to be extremely popular and it is on the back of this success that we have launched our second Egyptian destination. Flights to our third destination in Egypt, Assuit, are just around the corner."
Obaidalla said: "I would like to thank the Egyptian authorities for their excellent support. We look forward to continuing this close relationship and providing affordable, high quality and low cost travel access for both UAE and Egyptian travellers."
Luxor is synonymous with ancient Egyptian history, being home to famous archeological sites such as the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Karnak.

HE Ambassador Mohab Nasr, Egyptian General Consul in Dubai said: "flydubai's new service to Luxor is a welcome boost for tourism and will encourage more and more travellers from the Gulf to experience one of Egypt's most famous cities."
FZ183 departs Dubai International Airport's Terminal 2 at 2255hrs and lands in Luxor at 0135hrs local time the following day. The return flight, FZ184, leaves Luxor at 0220hrs and arrives back in Dubai at 0645hrs local time.
