First Official Visit to Routes Africa Host

Routes Africa 2012 Project and Operations Manager, Rebecca Teale, makes first official visit to Seychelles.

Following the announcement that the 7th Routes Africa will take place in the Seychelles Islands, the event’s Project and Operations Manager, Rebecca Teale, made her first official visit to the host country last week. Rebecca was in Seychelles on a two-day visit as the islands have already begun preparing for Routes Africa 2012 that will be held for three-days, from 8 to 10 July.

Routes Africa 2012 is a networking event for Airlines, Civil Aviation Authorities and Tourism Boards, whereby route development professionals from across Africa, the Middle East and beyond come together to discuss the latest developments in aviation within the region and establish new potential air traffic routes for Africa.

The purpose of Rebecca's visit was to meet with the team of the Seychelles Tourism Board and the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), who are organising and getting Seychelles ready for Routes Africa 2012, to oversee and further discuss the preparation of the event.

More so, she was in Seychelles to view and finalise the preferred venues for the programme of events, including the conference itself, as well as the accommodation for the delegates, and the same time to better know the destination.

Her itinerary for the two-days comprised site visits of the potential venues proposed by the Seychelles team, and included a complete tour of the Seychelles International Airport.

Following her visit in Seychelles, Rebecca said that it has been a pleasure for her to visit Seychelles and meet with the team from the Seychelles Tourism Board and Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority.

“The purpose of my trip has been to get to know the Routes Africa 2012 host team as well as to select the most appropriate event venue and delegate accommodation, and visit the preferred sites for the hospitality events within the Routes Africa 2012 programme,” said Rebecca. “We are very much looking forward to delivering what we believe will be a highly successful Routes Africa 2012 event from 8-10 July here in Seychelles with a host team that is 100% committed to air service development to the islands.”

Routes Africa 2012 is an ideal opportunity for the region to learn firsthand of the Seychelles Islands and what the destination has to offer in terms of services and products as it thrives to become more accessible and see its tourism numbers grow.
