IBERIA BOOST FOR VIENNA

Oneworld member Iberia will boost scheduled services from Madrid to the Austrian capital of Vienna. It currently operates a double-daily schedule which will be increased to nineteen-times weekly, effective March 27th2011. Iberia currently has a 71% share of the existing O+D annual market of over 115,000 passengers.


CITIFLYER BOOSTS LEISURE NETWORK

British Airways regional subsidiary Citiflyer will increase its leisure network from London City Airport, which historically has been primarily a business market for the BA subsidiary. Effective June 7th, 2011 it will add a thrice-weekly service to Faro, and a four-times weekly service to Malaga. Both routes will be operated with E190 aircraft. Cityflyer now has thirteen based units at London CIty.


GERMANWINGS INKS MAASTRICHT DEAL

Low-cost operator Germanwings has announced new scheduled service from Berlin’s Schoenefeld Airport. The route will commence March 31st and will be operated on a twice-weekly basis with A319 aircraft. Germanwings is opening services to Maastricht to avoid paying German taxes at Cologne whilst still targeting passengers around the Dutch-German border.


INTERSKY OFF TO THE CANARIES

German regional operator, Intersky, will begin non-stop scheduled service from Friedrichshafen to Mahon (Menorca) effective May29th 2011. The route is set to be operated on a seasonal basis with Dash 8 aircraft.


AEROSVIT PLANS OSLO LINK

Ukranian flag carrier, Aerosvit, has announced new non-stop service from its Kiev base to Oslo. The planned service will commence April 1st, 2011 and will be operated with B737 and E195 equipment. IATA BSP data shows that existing traffic currently transits, primarily through Riga, with Air Baltic.


ORENAIR TO LAUNCH HANOVER

Orenair will begin non-stop seasonal flights from its Orenburg base to Hanover effective July1st 2011 through August 26th with B737-500 aircraft.


ALBANIAN AIRLINES TO LAUNCH MILAN SERVICE

Albanian Airlines will begin new non-stop service from its capital city of Tirana to Milan’s low cost airport of Bergamo effective December 14th. The route will be operated thrice-weekly with Avrojet equipment.


TALLINN GAINS AEROSVIT LINK

The Estonian capital Tallinn will gain a new scheduled service to Kiev, when Aerosvit begins begins a four-times weekly service from March 27th, 2011. Estonian Air currently has a 72% of the existing O+D market of over 23,000 passengers.
