Utair Set For New German Route

Moscow Vnukovo based UTAir will begin new flights from Moscow Vnukovo to Hanover from May 1st, 2011. The route will be operated daily with CRJ200 aircraft. The route is currently operated on a thrice-weekly basis by low-cost carrier Germanwings.


BMIBABY ADDS NEW SERVICE TO SOUTH OF FRANCE

BMI’s low-cost subsidiary bmibaby will launch a new seasonal service from Manchester to Montpellier. The route will operate from July 2nd until September 10th 2011 and will be a twice-weekly rotation. The route will be served with B737 aircraft and will be the only carrier operating the route.


AER LINGUS TO ADD NEW LONDON GATWICK SERVICE

Effective March 27th, Aer Lingus will commence scheduled services from Shannon to London Gatwick. The service will be operated daily with A320 aircraft and will compete with Ryanair’s six-times weekly flight, operated with the larger B737-800 aircraft.


S7 TO BEGIN BERLIN TEGEL FLIGHTS

Moscow Domodedovo based S7 has announced that it will begin services from its Siberian base of Novosibirsk with a new weekly service to Berlin’s Tegel Airport effective April 24th. S7 will be the only carrier operating the route. It currently serves Frankfurt from Novosibirsk, whilst operating to Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Hanover and Munich from its main Moscow Domodedovo base.


CROATIA AIRLINES TO OPEN NEW ROUTES

Star Alliance member Croatia Airlines has announced two new routes to its network. Effective April 27th, it will begin operating from Rijeka to London Heathrow with A320 aircraft, complementing its existing nine-times weekly service from Zagreb.

Additionally it will add a twice-weekly service from Zadar to Munich, a route that is currently not served. Croatia Airlines will deploy Q400 aircraft on this thinner sector.
