Etihad Airways will open two new routes in its northern hemisphere summer 2024 schedule, connecting Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to the south of France and a Greek island.

From June 15, 2024, the UAE carrier will launch service from its AUH base to Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE) in France, flying the route 2X-weekly. Also on that date, Etihad will start 2X-weekly flights between AUH and Santorini Airport (JTR) in Greece.

“Our exciting summer schedule reinforces our commitment to growth, giving our customers the destinations, frequencies and timings for European and Asian destinations which suit them,” Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves says in a statement. “We are boosting capacity to international locations and introducing destinations, including Nice on the Cote d’Azur, allowing our guests to enjoy even more fantastic travel experiences. Our schedule is also making it easier to stop over in Abu Dhabi to enjoy our exhilarating and welcoming home.”

In addition to starting service to JTR, the carrier will operate 2X-weekly seasonal service to the Greek island of Mykonos from June 17. Etihad will also boost frequencies on the AUH-Athens International Airport (ATH) route for the 2024 summer. AUH-ATH flights will rise from 7X-weekly to 12X-weekly from May 1, 2024, and will grow again to 14X-weekly from July 15, 2024.

The airline notes that AUH-Copenhagen flights, currently operating as a seasonal service set to end March 31, 2024, will now be flown year-round.
