EgyptAir resumes flights to Iraq after 20 year suspension
EgyptAir operated its first service to the Iraqi capital Baghdad this morning with 34 passengers onboard and 74 passengers on the return flight. The route had been suspended for more than 20 years
The Egyptian airline is also scheduled to start its first service to Arbil on Monday evening.
EgyptAir chairman and CEO Captain Ayman Nasr ,said the airline took the decision to operate this route as part of its regional expansion strategy with an aim to restore the investment and tourism traffic between the two countries through the Cairo Hub.”
EgyptAir is operating 7 weekly flights to Iraq by 4 flights to Baghdad on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 3 flights to Arbil on “Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays utilising an Airbus A320 with a capacity of 145 seats.
