China Southern still pressing for expansion

China Southern Airlines has said it will press on with plans to boost its international network despite the global economic slowdown.

“We won't postpone our plans to build an international carrier,” said chairman Liu Shaoyong in an interview at the Zhuhai air show in southern China yesterday.

China Southern is hoping to challenge Air China on overseas routes as part of plans to generate 30% of sales from overseas flights within the next five years.
