China Airlines launches Taipei to London
The Global Distribution System (GDS) is showing a new service operated by China Airlines between Taipei and London Heathrow. The service is shown as a three-times weekly operation with an Airbus A340-300 starting the route from 28th March.
The only other carrier operating between Taipei and London is the Taiwanese carrier Eva Air, which currently operates from London Heathrow to Taipei with a stop in Bangkok (six-times weekly using a Boeing 777).
The new China Airlines flight operates from Taipei on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday - departing at 0945 (0935 on Thursday) and arriving in London Heathrow at 1705 (1655 on Thursday). The flight departs London Heathrow at 2115 (2205 on Thursday) and arrives in Taipei at 1815 (1905 on Friday).
China Airlines currently serves Amsterdam, Rome, Vienna and Frankfurt in Europe with its own aircraft. A number of other European destinations are served as codeshares. The carrier does operate a cargo service to Manchester in the UK, in addition to other cargo services across Europe - including Milan, Luxembourg Prague and Stockholm.
