Budget airline announces new French destination
Ryanair has announced that it will operate new routes to the west coast French airport of Bordeaux. Ryanair will operate BOD from four of its bases, namely Porto, Edinburgh, Brussels Charleroi and Bologna.
Brussels Charleroi will commence in December whilst the other routes will commence in March. Bordeaux has recently developed its low cost facility Billi(details of which can be found on their enhanced profile page) with the aim of attracting new low cost traffic to the region.
Bordeaux will become the 26th destination in France that is served by Ryanair. Ryanair currently operates 635 weekly flights into France with 120015 seats on offer, compared to easyjet which operates to 11 destinations in France with 877 weekly flights and 109648 seats offered. easyJet, however has significant presence at Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Nice where it has based presence.
Ryanair currently only utilises Marseilles MP3 facility as a based unit offering 130 weekly flights. However its largest presence in France is at Paris Beauvais Airport where it offers 183 weekly flights, its largest non based airport in the network.
In France, Ryanair is now the second largest carrier behind Air France which operates 8648 weekly flights.
