Bmibaby cuts some seasonal routes

Bmibaby has suspending five summer services from Birmingham International Airport and one from East Midlands Airport due to falling demand.

The routes affected include Rome, Milan, Lisbon, Madrid and Bordeaux, with the flights to be put on hold between March 29 and October 24, 2009, while the East Midlands route to Prague will also be suspended early next year.

"These seasonal summer 2009 routes are being suspended in response to a weakening of consumer demand, which is being impacted upon by the current economic climate and its unpredictability,” the airline said in a statement.
