AirAsia X To Use Route Exchange for A330 Deployment

Routes is pleased to reveal that long-haul, low-cost carrier AirAsia X will be using Routesonline's Route Exchange platform for the placement process for new A330s due for delivery in 2012. A formal presentation launching the 'Request for Proposals' (RFP) will be made at Routes Europe in Cagliari, Italy on May 10.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to gather serious proposals and financial support for a new air service provided by Air Asia X from Kuala Lumpur to the European and Africa region. AirAsia X has a number of A330-200 and A330-300 aircraft that will be entering their fleet from October 2012. These aircraft are intended to expand AirAsia X’s presence in either the European and or Africa region. In Europe Air Asia X currently only serves London Stansted and Paris Orly from Malaysia.

More details on AirAsia X, the Route Exchange process and the reasons why AirAsia X is using the online tender process will be announced at the event, as well as the information AirAsia X requires and the stakeholder support it is expecting to receive. The process will formally open on May 16 and will close on June 24.
