Air France announce Abu Dhabi

Skyteam carrier Air France has announced its intentions to start a non-stop scheduled service from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Abu Dhabi.

The new daily service will start in May using a widebody A330-200 aircraft. Currently Etihad operates the route on a 10x weekly basis with a mix of A330-200 and A340-600 jets.

In the last twelve months over 55,000 passengers have flown the route with Etihad taking a passenger share of over 80%. The majority of indirect traffic transits between Doha and Bahrain with Qatar Airways and Gulf Air respectively.
