AeroMexico to start Bogota service from July 2010

Effective July 5th, Aeromexico will begin a daily Mexico City to Bogota,Colombia. The route will be operated with B737 equipment and will compete on the route with Avianca which recently announced it will increase its daily to a double daily, and also Mexicana operates an 11x weekly rotation.

IATA BSP data shows that over 100,000 O+D pax flew the route between March 09-10, Mexicana leading the way with a 44% share of the market. However data also suggest that there is leakage on the route with Copa Airlines via Panama and Lacsa via San Jose carrying passengers.
