Fastjet Mozambique is set to resume operations in the second half of 2026 as part of a broader strategy by charter and ACMI provider Solenta Aviation Mozambique to expand its footprint in southern Africa.
Solenta Aviation Mozambique has confirmed plans to resume scheduled services from Beira, the largest city in Mozambique’s Sofala Province, under the Fastjet brand. The move follows Solenta’s successful acquisition of regulatory approvals from the Mozambique Civil Aviation Authority in December 2025. Fastjet Mozambique previously operated between 2017 and 2019.
The carrier will relaunch operations with an initial fleet of three 50-seat Embraer ERJ145 regional jets.
While specific routes have not yet been announced, the relaunch marks a renewed momentum for Mozambique’s aviation sector, of which LAM Mozambique Airlines is its national carrier. The country is seeking to strengthen regional links and bolster economic development, including supporting the country’s increase of tourism.
Fastjet Limited is headquartered in Johannesburg. Its major subsidiary airline Fastjet Zimbabwe serves domestic routes within Zimbabwe and international flights to South Africa. Solenta Aviation Holdings Limited is the majority shareholder of Fastjet Limited.
