FARNBOROUGH—Aerolíneas Argentinas will lease six Boeing 737 MAX-10s from Aviation Capital Group (ACG), adding capacity for growth on high-demand domestic and regional routes from Buenos Aires.
The first aircraft is scheduled to arrive in 2028 from ACG’s orderbook. The lessor said the aircraft would support operations from both of the airline’s Buenos Aires hubs—Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Airport and Ezeiza International Airport.
“These aircraft are a key part of our 2027-2031 fleet plan and will allow us to add capacity on high-demand domestic and regional routes, improve operating efficiency and continue offering a more competitive product to our passengers,” Aerolíneas Argentinas President and CEO Fabián Lombardo said.
OAG Schedules Analyser data show Aerolíneas Argentinas is offering about 8.7 million seats across its network during summer 2026, up 1% year on year. Domestic services account for approximately 6.89 million.
About 7.15 million seats touch its two Buenos Aires hubs, giving the SkyTeam member a combined 44.2% capacity share at Aeroparque and Ezeiza, down from 45.4% a year earlier. The airline’s position is strongest at Aeroparque, where it accounts for 52.5% of seats, compared with 25.6% at Ezeiza.
Across the wider Argentine market, Aerolíneas Argentinas holds a 43.3% capacity share. JetSmart ranks second with 19.6%, followed by Flybondi with 13.6%. However, their combined Buenos Aires shares are slightly higher at 20.7% and 14.1%, respectively.
According to the CAPA Fleet Database, Aerolíneas Argentinas has 76 aircraft in service. The fleet includes 14 737 MAX-8s, two 737-700s and 25 passenger-configured 737-800s, alongside two 737-800 freighters. CAPA also lists two further 737 MAX-8s on order.
Additionally, the airline operates 23 Embraer 190s and 10 Airbus A330-200s. Three 737-800s and one E190 are listed as inactive.
