South African carrier FlySafair plans to add four new routes departing from Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport to its network.

Routes gets an update on the progress being made in Zambia after $1 billion was invested in new airport facilities.

The startup carrier will commence flying on Dec. 1 on domestic routes before expanding its network beyond Zambia’s borders in the first quarter of 2022.

Doha-based carrier will rival Emirates by launching flights to Lusaka and Harare.

An interline agreement with Airlink will allow travelers from Dubai to Cape Town and Johannesburg to go onwards to 45 destinations across the Southern Africa.
