The domestic carrier is looking beyond Eastern Canada as it adds Embraer jets.

Michael Deluce tells Routes that sun destinations will be a ‘smaller focus’ of the Canadian carrier’s Embraer jet fleet.

After a series of false dawns, the Canadian carrier is confident flights will finally restart in September.

The startup is being launched by Waltzing Matilda Aviation and intends to fly to destinations in the US from Toronto’s Billy Bishop City Airport.

The new weekly seasonal flight will commence from December 19, 2015 and will operate every Saturday through to April 30, 2016 and will act as an alternate access point into Orlando and the many attractions within its vicinity. It will be the third longest Dash 8 scheduled turboprop flight in the world.

The independent regional carrier is the fourth operator to announce the start of service at Pittsburgh International Airport within the past 12 months and will see Toronto introduced as the 50th non-stop destination served from Pittsburgh and the sixth international destination.
