UK regional carrier Loganair has signed an agreement with U.S.-based BETA Technologies to become Europe’s first airline to operate an electric aircraft fleet.
The announcement came just hours after the last flight of the Glasgow-based regional carrier's once-large fleet of Saab 340 turboprops after 24 years’ service.
Loganair’s fleet of 13 Embraer 145 regional jets is being fitted with FLYHT-WVSS-II atmospheric water vapor sensors to measure weather data for the Met Office.
