The Swedish government has announced its decision to look into the possibility of introducing US preclearance at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, meaning that Sweden could become the second country in Europe, after Ireland to offer the service.
The service will be operated three-times weekly, increasing to a daily service by the end of the year, using a B757-200 aircraft with 74 lie-flat seats in a 2x2 configuration.
Beginning September 1, 2015 and subject to government approval, the service will operate four-times weekly to Dusseldorf - the international business and financial centre in Germany.
In its first summer season, Air Canada rouge offered an up to daily link between Toronto and Dublin using a Boeing 767-300ER, but reverted to a three times weekly offering through the current winter schedule. According to its schedules, frequencies will increase again from late April 2015, growing to ten times weekly in mid-June and up to eleven times weekly from the end of that month through to the end of August.

Wizz Air made its debut in the Macedonian market in June 2011 when it launched flights to Skopje from London Luton, subsequently adding flights from Treviso Sant'Angelo in September the same year. Transaero’s new itinerary will be the only scheduled offering between the two cities and will represent the first scheduled link since Yakutia ended a short-lived Boeing 757 operation on the route in January 2014 after just three months of service. Prior to that S7 Airlines had served the route in 2012 and Vladivostok Air between July 2008 and October 2011.
The new weekday flight, the only direct link between the two cities, will be launched on April 20, 2015 and will provide a late morning departure from the Welsh capital and afternoon return from Norwich. The flight time of just over one hour will shave around four hours off the current ground links by road or rail.
The route will operate from Paris – Dublin – Halifax, beginning July 9, 2015 and running through until September 11, 2015, boosting Canadian tourism to France and Ireland, and offering a new direct destination in North America for passengers from Dublin Airport.
The new twice weekly route will operate on Mondays and Fridays between May 1, 2015 and September 7, 2015, enabling passengers to enjoy long weekend or week long visits to each destination. The flights will be operated using a Boeing 737-300 configured with 147 seats.
This ‘start up aid’ will be made available from the Regional Air Connectivity Fund which was announced by the UK government in June 2013 and is open to airports with fewer than five million passengers per year. This fund has already been partly distributed to support strategic routes to London from Newquay and Dundee but is now being extended to bids for more routes.

Transaero will offer a daily flight to the Czech capital as part of its growing Moscow Vnukovo international network from March 29, 2015 using a Next-Generation Boeing 737. The route will complement the airline’s flights from both Moscow and St Petersburg to Pardubice which have been in operation since 1996 and which witnessed a nine per cent year-on-year rise in passenger demand in 2014.
