The growth of airline activity in Nigeria seems set to continue, following an announcement by the governor of Enugu State, in the south of the country.

United Nigeria Airlines is looking ahead to Boeing 737-800 operations after signing an agreement with LCC Southwest Airlines to acquire six of the aircraft.

Embraer has picked up another African customer for its E-Jets, with the delivery of two E170s to new operator Enugu Air of Nigeria.

The carrier, which serves three airports in Nigeria, has not flown to Enugu since 2019.

The Nigerian airline’s first route will launch on Aug. 12.
