An order has been issued by the US Transportation Department that prevents regional carrier SkyWest from ending routes to 29 small communities until a replacement carrier has been found.
A total of 13 routes are being launched from the secondary airports in Chicago and Houston by Frontier, most of which are served by rival Southwest Airlines.
