A new route between Guangzhou and Seoul via Zhengzhou is bolstering Henan province in its bid to become a key staging post on the aviation Silk Road.

The new flight between its Luxembourg base and the Indian city of Chennai, via Muscat International Airport, will operate from April 15, 2015 and is likely to be the start of an expected rapid growth in the Sultanate.

The airline debuted the aircraft on its ‘CV7606’ scheduled flight from January 25, 2015, taking use of the aircraft’s greater volume to transport a load of machinery spare parts and telecommunications equipment from Luxembourg to South America.

The Luxembourg based cargo airline is expanding its services to Vietnam, with the addition of a second flight into Ho Chi Minh City, and a fourth frequency to Hanoi.

As part of a commercial cooperation agreement between Cargolux and HNCA, the freight carrier intends to develop a dual-hub strategy centered on Luxembourg’s Findel airport in Europe and on Zhengzhou’s Xinzheng International Airport in Asia.
