Frankfurt Airport is expecting flight cancellations and delays Thursday as its apron control workers, represented by the German union GdF, announced a strike for Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time, according to a statement on the airport’s website. Apron control staff direct aircraft in and out of parking positions. GdF said it planned the strike after failing to reach a wage agreement with airport operator Fraport.
Air Arabia is expanding its Kuwait services from its Sharjah hub. With the launch of the additional service, Air Arabia will now operate three daily flights to the city of Kuwait.
Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air is announcing the closure of its services to four destinations; Damascus, Athens, Milan and Kuala Lumpur. Services to Damascus will be stopped from 2 March while flights to Athens and Milan will be stopped from 12 March and Kuala Lumpur from 25 March 2012.

Vladivostok Airport (VVO) in the Russian Far East will gain open skies status in June, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport (SVO) CEO Mikhail Vasilenko said. This will enable new carriers to pick up and drop off passengers and cargo without bilateral agreements.
