Pratt & Whitney said ground testing of its first PW1524G engine for the CSeries is on schedule. It has accumulated approximately 60 hr. of testing. The company said it is through about half of the PW1500G engine test program. The PW1524G undergoing testing is the first of an eight-engine validation and certification program that will run over the next 24 months, with first aircraft flight slated for 2012 and EIS scheduled for 2013.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 successfully completed a High Intensity Radiated Field testing program at Alenia Aeronautica's facilities at Turin-Caselle airport, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. stated. "The preliminary results show that the aircraft meets all certification requirements regarding HIRF," it said. The SSJ100 achieved first flight in early November ( ATW Daily News, Nov. 5).

Delta Air Lines confirmed three incidents aboard aircraft last weekend that resulted in emergency landings, all without injuries. Two incidents were engine related; the third was caused by a “bleed air” issue, Delta spokesman Anthony Black told ATW.

Boeing said Monday it has agreed to acquire Summit Aeronautics Group, a supplier of titanium and hard metal structures for Boeing aircraft including the 787. Terms were not disclosed. Helena, Montana-based Summit, which employs 135, works on 747-8 fail-safe bars, 787 door edge frames and 767 main-landing-gear beams. "After the transaction, Summit will continue its work on these Boeing programs and manufacture other machined parts for the 787," Boeing said in a statement. "Summit also will continue to support existing military programs."

Goodrich Corp. was selected by Airbus to provide the main landing gear for the A350-1000. Goodrich said the contract is expected to generate more than $2 billion in original equipment and aftermarket revenue over the life of the program. This selection covers the design, test, manufacture and in-service support of the main landing gear.
AVIC International has signed an agreement with COMAC to purchase 100 ARJ21s at the Zhuhai Air Show. Both companies said they will work together to market to international customers.
