SPIRIT AEROSYSTEMS announced 21-day furloughs for 700 employees working on 767 and 777 programs in response to ongoing IAM strike at Boeing. It says it has built up significant inventory buffer and has no room for additional storage.
Boeing and the union representing 33,000 striking machinists have agreed new contract terms to end the more than month-long walkout. The union vote is Oct. 23.
