Airlink’s New E2s Will Boost Regional Connectivity
Airlink, Southern Africa’s leading full-service airline, has added three E195-E2s to its fleet, part of a ten-aircraft order. Once all are delivered, the fleet will total about 80 aircraft. This milestone further cements Airlink’s position as the largest Embraer operator in Southern Africa and underpins its commitment to growth and connectivity in the region.
The new aircraft, based at Airlink’s main hubs in Johannesburg and Cape Town, seat up to 136 passengers in a comfortable two-by-two Economy Class cabin layout. This fleet expansion provides Airlink with additional capacity to meet increasing demand on high-density routes. Furthermore, with an impressive range of 3,000 nautical miles, the E2s will enable Airlink to open new routes and serve more destinations in sub-Saharan Africa.
Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, remarked: “We are proud to deepen our long-standing partnership with Airlink as it takes this next step into the future with the E195-E2. This aircraft is perfectly suited to support Airlink’s ambitious growth plans across Southern Africa.”
Thanks to this new investment, Airlink will further strengthen its service offering and competitive edge in a region experiencing significant increases in both passenger revenue and demand.
