From The Archives: Shuttle Model In Wind Tunnel
The cover of the June 30, 1975, issue featured a one-third scale model of the space shuttle orbiter built by Rockwell International. It was being readied for testing in the 40 x 80-ft. low-speed wind tunnel at NASA's Ames Research Center. The main engine orbital maneuvering system and reaction control system nozzles can be seen.
