Aiming to exemplify the characteristics of leadership, hope, generosity and prosperity, an all-civilian crew known as Inspiration4 was preparing to launch aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule as early as 8 p.m. EDT on Sept. 14. The spacecraft, which previously taxied a four-member crew to the International Space Station, sports a glass dome in place of a docking port to provide private space travelers with exceptional views from 357 mi. above Earth. In addition to research projects, mission commander and financier Jared Isaacman, 38, hopes to raise $200 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
