The Launch

A Focus On The Interior
Bombardier’s focus on the Challenger 3500’s cabin comes as a growing number of passengers turn to private aviation for the first time spurred by the pandemic. The $26.7 million aircraft is priced the same as the Challenger 350. Eric Martell, Bombardier president and CEO, addresses those gathered for the unveiling of the mockup on Sept. 14. Sustainable Choices
Bombardier designed the interior with an eye on sustainability. It will be the first in its segment to receive an Environmental Product Declaration, which outlines the aircraft’s life-cycle environmental footprint. Bombardier also is giving customers the option of selecting sustainable materials and fabrics in its interior. The redesigned galley, which includes a lighted storage for crystal glassware and optional see-through wine storage, was manufacturered using veneers made from eucalyptus trees, a fast-growing renewable resource. It also is offering the use of “upcycled” fabrics reclaimed for manufacturing. Credit: Bombardier
Global 7500 Touches
Bombardier is outfitting the Challenger 3500 with its patented Nuage seating designed for the Global 7500 ultra-long-range jet but refined and scaled for the aircraft's size. Nuage is the French word for cloud. Each seat includes a deep-recline and patented tilt-link system for comfort. The seats are installed on a “floating base” without visible floor rails. Voice-Controlled Lighting, Temperature
Interior upgrades include the use of voice control to manage lighting, temperature and entertainment systems. Wireless chargers will be placed throughout the cabin along with 24-in. displays, new LED lighting and a redesigned sound system. Credit: Bombardier
Autothrottle & An Eco App
The Challenger 3500 retains the Honeywell HTF7350 engines and Collins Pro Line 21 Advanced avionics system found in the Challenger 350. It introduces a standard-equipped autothrottle system and an eco app to help operators optimize their flight plans to reduce fuel burn and carbon emissions.
